Following consultations with the Malta Tourism Authority and the Parliamentary Secretariat for Tourism within the Office of the Prime Minister it was decided that MIEMA should collaborate with Malta Enterprise (ME), the national agency for the support of enterprise, in carrying out audits in hotels.
MIEMA has developed the methodology specifically for hotels, in the form of a questionnaire and survey to be used by the assessors during the audits. The hotel audits were launched at a press conference held on May 22, 2009 and addressed by Dr Mario De Marco, Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism within the Office of the Prime Minister.
